[UPDATE: A Statement From Tovar] Goldenvoice's 30th Anniversary Fest: Social D, Bad Religion, Descendents Headline

UPDATE, NOV. 7, 9:52 A.M.: Founder Gary Tovar explains the lineup in a statement: “The artists and lineup for these special shows were chosen to reflect the bands that embraced and were instrumental in building Goldenvoice from day one. Like us, they had just the right screws loose. Because of their support past and present, Goldenvoice was able to flourish and become a part of the Southern California music scene. These bands took a chance on us 30 years ago and continue to be a big part of what we do today. We are excited for them to help us honor our first 30 years!”

ORIGINAL POST, NOV. 2, 12:26 P.M.: Goldenvoice, the company that produces Coachella, Stagecoach and many other festivals (remember All Points West?), celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

As part of the celebration, it's throwing a three-day festival in
Santa Monica featuring a bunch of iconic punk bands–many from OC!

The event, called GV 30, will be held at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. It kicks off Dec. 16 with performances by Social Distortion, X and Adolescents. On Saturday, Bad Religion, Youth Brigade and T.S.O.L. will play. On Sunday, the recently reunited Descendents, The Vandals and The Dickies will cap off the event. The Grim, Ill Repute, Love Canal and A Pretty Mess will also appear.

Single-day passes for all three days go on sale Saturday, Nov. 5 at  noon. For more information, check out Goldenvoice's website.
