Twin Shadow is one man—George Lewis Jr.—and one big sticky blob of ‘80s resurrectionism, taking a shred or two from bands like Grizzly Bear (whose Chris Taylor produced his last LP) and maybe Caribou to dress up unadulterated love for the newest and waviest of the new wave. The Smiths, Adam Ant, Flock of Seagulls—believe it or not, they all did Peel sessions, and that’s what Twin Shadow is doing, too, balancing extra-synthesized synth-pop with critical adoration from the usual indie gatekeepers.
