Our sister publication LA Weekly has an update on the members of Imperial Stars. The Garden Grove trio who blocked the 101 last October to raise awareness for the “homeless children” were finally charged yesterday by the LA D.A.'s office.
Christopher Wright, Paul Arabella (aka David Paul Hale) and Keith Yackey were each charged with charges of felony conspiracy they parked a semi on the 101 and played their song “Traffic Jam 101.”

In the LA Weekly story, D.A. Steve Cooley said, “This was not a matter involving free speech or lawful protest…This was a well-orchestrated commercial stunt
perpetrated by these defendants and their accomplices with no concern
for the lives or well-being of thousands of innocent victims who were
caught up in the prank.”
The full breakdown of the charges are as follows:
- One felony count of conspiracy to
commit a public nuisance against three named band members and 50 John
and Jane Does. - One misdemeanor count
each of public nuisance and false imprisonment - Two misdemeanor
counts of resisting, obstructing or delaying Los Angeles police and
California Highway Patrol officers.
They were already arrested, but were freed after posting $20,000 bail; they were due in court Tuesday for
arraignment.
The truck driver has still not been identified, but authorities say he will be charged when he is finally found.
