An update for you all: Touch Hak, the only-very-technically Cambodian citizen who wants to give his brother a kidney, has received a one-year stay, according to his lawyer, Jacqueline Dan, but that's still two years short of the three he'd need to participate in a program that'd find his brother a kidney.

Touch's advocates over at Asian Americans Advancing Justice weren't notified directly, but multiple congressional staffers received this message from ICE when inquiring about the case, according to his lawyer:
“On July 30, 2015, Mr. Hak submitted an Application for a Stay of Deportation or Removal (Form I-246) to the ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Los Angeles, California, field office. While the application was originally denied on August 24, 2015, after further review of all additional information available, ERO Los Angeles granted Mr. Hak a one year stay of removal, provided he remains in the organ donor program and is not involved in any further criminal activity.”
Hak is currently in Washington D.C. meeting with more congressional staffers to advocate for two additional years of stay.
