Rarely do we get to use the words “Breaking News” in the realm of OC fashion, so it makes me seriously giddy to bring you this announcement.
BREAKING NEWS, GUYS! Topshop has come to Orange County! Yesssssssss.
The cheap-chic British chain has invaded 14 Nordstrom stores across the country, and not one, but two of them are local—South Coast Plaza and Irvine Spectrum. (At this very moment, Los Angeles has . . . let's see . . . zero locations. Not that I'm counting.) Located near the Brass Plum departments, the permanent installations feature a curated rotation of Topshop items, including limited-edition pieces created exclusively for Nordstrom. The Irvine Spectrum store also carries Topman, the brand's men's counterpart. It's all bloody amazing.
I checked out the Topshop department at South Coast Plaza and instantly felt as though I had been transported to the high-style streets of London. Racks are loaded with rock-inclined statement pieces—sequined tees, hot shorts decked with cone studs, camo army jackets, faux-leather biker vests, lace rompers, printed leggings and embellished corsets. There are also some well-made basics, including knit sweaters, super-soft scarves and skinny jeans. The price points are a bit higher than at retailers such as H&M and Forever 21, but they still hover in the affordable range.

There are little cotton tails on the back! Adorbs. $92.

A little bit prim, a little bit punk. $70.

According to Nordstrom spokesperson John Bailey, new merchandise will be arriving each week, and an even bigger selection is available online at www.nordstrom.com. That means it's already time to go back. Cheerio!
