Tootsie Ice Cream Opens in Santa Ana; Also Offers Persian Shaved Ice

Cute name? Check. Awesome location? Familiar flavors of rocky road and vanilla? Check. Check. Offerings of waffle ice cream sandwiches, and faloodeh, Persian shaved ice? Yep.

Yes, Tootsie–an ice cream shop that just debuted on the corner of 3rd & Broadway in Historic Downtown Santa Ana–isn't just an ice cream shop; it's also a faloodeh
vendor, a bonafide bastani, which are what ice cream stores are called in Iran.

What is faloodeh? Well, it's a frigid Persian dessert with thin vermicelli-like corn-starch noodles mixed with rose water syrup, served with lime juice and ground pistachios…but don't take my word for it! Try it yourself!
