TONIGHT: RX Bandits and Zechs Marquise at the Glass House

If you missed their sunburned Coachella performance and want to catch the Long Beach prog rock alchemists Rx Bandits before they head off to Europe, you're in luck. Their second-to-last gig is happening tonight, at the Glass House

]
Though it's been almost a full year since the band unleashed the explosive, Latin-infused contents of  their 2009 full-length Mandala, their undeniable progressive sound continues to draw rabid fans. As far as tonight's show, you can bet that the thrashing drum circles and guttural call-and-response choruses are going to be in full effect in Pomona.

We're particularly jazzed about seeing RXB paired up with their pals  Zechs Marquise (whose lineup includes Mars Volta's Omar Rodriguez Lopez's little brothers Manfred and Marcel). ZM's rhythmically-advanced stoner rock borrows from the sonic philosophies of bands like Can and King Crimson. (Actually, they pretty much sound like the Mars Volta without all the high-pitched wailing).

Get there early to catch the set from another group of RXB compadres; the Philly-based trio Good
Old War
plays harmony-driven folk rock that you probably won't need earplugs for.

Last time we checked, there's still $15 tickets for this show, so get your ass to the ticket window, stat. Show starts at 8 p.m.
