Tonight: Army Navy, The Shys at The Coach House

Army Navy—an excellent power-pop band from LA, returns to Orange County tonight with a show at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano. It's a surprisingly hip show for that venue; not trying to talk out of class or anything, but their next two shows after this are the Bacon Brothers and Stephen Pearcy of Ratt.

If you've heard the soundtrack to modest hit fall comedy Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, you've heard Army Navy; their tune “Silvery Sleds” shares space on that record with indie luminaries like Vampire Weekend, Band of Horses and Devendra Banhart. It's kind of like this year's Garden State soundtrack, though less moody and less Shins.

Also playing: OC's own The Shys, another quality act. Yes, this is pretty much the same show that was at Detroit Bar last month, but as the old ads for repeats on NBC (I think it was NBC) said, “if you haven't seen it, it's new to you!”
