Todd Spitzer and Asian Massage Parlors Have What in Common?

When you hear of a “grand opening” you might think of an Asian massage parlor ad, but once and future Orange County Supervisor Todd Spitzer is taking back the phrase if only for one day.

Spitzer will celebrate the “grand opening” of his new campaign headquarters tomorrow afternoon.

And how do we know there won't be any scantily clad Asians (except, perhaps, for trusty Spitzer aide Anthony Kuo) roaming around ready to soothe your pains?

Spitzer, the party pooper, invited Sheriff Sandra Hutchens as well as three current Republican supervisors–Janet Nguyen, Bill Campbell and Pat Bates–to attend.

A former state Assemblyman and county prosecutor, Spitzer–a private attorney nowadays–is facing opposition from Deborah Pauly,
the controversial, underdog Villa Park city councilwoman and 1st vice
chair of the county's Republican Party central committee.

Pauly joined the race after onetime OC state Assemblyman Chuck DeVore, a much more experienced candidate, quit the race and moved to Texas to take a job. Before he left, DeVore endorsed Pauly.

In the campaign fundraising scorecard, Spitzer is banking a little more than a bazillion dollars and Pauly has a couple of dimes and a nickel.

Anyho, Spitzer's April 17th bandwagon party begins at 5:30 p.m. inside Suite 203 at 940 W. Chapman Avenue in Orange.
