Yesterday, Kid Rock announced that he was bringing his “Born Free” tour to Irvine at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on July 30. Sheryl Crow
is opening, and tickets are on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. via LiveNation.com and Ticketmaster. The duo
has a new duet out called “Collide” (They also sang the
megahit “Picture”), and it makes sense that it's hitting Orange County. Find out why after the jump.
1. He got his start as a white kid rapping, and is now a multi-genre artist. Safe! Palatable! Even Kid Rock's edginess is the bro-ey kind that will only get you a DUI, not a life sentence in jail. What do you expect from a guy who got his name from clubgoers who enjoyed watching “that white kid rock”?
2. He supported George W. Bush and has performed at Republican events.
Kid Rock's politics pretty much mirror South County's. You do have to give him props for regularly
performing for American service men and women in countries such as
Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait and Kosovo.
3. He was married to surgically enhanced Pamela Anderson. Here's betting that a lot of OC residents are to Kid Rock's taste.
