Thomas Ramirez Not Rescued But Shot Dead Outside Orange Bar Featured on Bar Rescue

A 31-year-old Orange man was shot and killed early Saturday after a fight in the parking lot behind that city's Second Base Bar and Grill, which was featured on the reality show Bar Rescue in 2012.

The county coroner Sunday identified Thomas Ramirez as the victim who died at the scene.

A call came in to dispatchers before the shooting that six shots had been fired in the lot at 1535 W. Chapman Ave., Orange, reports City News Service.

The establishment had been known as Extremes Bar and Grill before Bar Rescue came to the rescue. The Spike TV reality show had food and beverage consultant Jon Taffer offer his professional expertise for free to desperately failing bars to keep their doors open.

“Formerly Extremes Sports Bar, with a facelift! Same fun atmosphere, same great staff, just with a little more formality, more TVs, and a new menu!” reads the bar's Facebook description. “Open from noon-2 am everyday and always a good time when you make it to Second Base!”
