This Week In Food: Tootsie Ice Cream, Nacho Burgers, and Cocktails FTW!

Hello food round-up readers, I've missed you so. Our Mexican-in-Chief returns to us next week so you can look forward to more of his usual rabble-rousing on the food blog again. Until then, let's take a look at this past week…

Edwin visited H20 Sushi & Izakaya at The Triangle in Costa Mesa, and it ended up being one of his more negative reviews :/ Sorry, sushi dudes. Then he announced that one of his favorite restaurants, Cucina Enoteca, will be opening a new location at Fashion Island. Damn, and I didn't think it could look anymore like an Anthropologie catalog than it already does. Last, he also told us that Jason Quinn of the Playground will be on MTV's new food show

Gustavo went to Tootsie Ice Cream in Santa Ana for his Hole in the Wall column, and then he shared that the Weekly will pair up with KCRW to host a hot sauce/salsa contest. Anne Marie told us about the upcoming Pig Out 2.0 fest in Costa Mesa, and then she interviewed Dennis Midden of BrewBakers for her On The Line story. Michelle told us about another glorious invention from Slater's 50/50 – the deep fried, supreme nacho burger. Good god, yes.

Then Sarah went to La Shish for her Long Beach Lunch, and Shuji announced that Taco Maria will be opening in just two weeks – and that was days ago, so it's even less time now. Huzzah! Next, Bill came back with a story for Tijuana Sí! about a tasty little stand in Baja called Mariscos el Pizón. And last, I wrote about our upcoming Decadence party at a wildlife preserve in Silverado Canyon (you should go), and then gave everyone a full look into the forgotten Steamers Jazz Club in Fullerton that's now worth a visit. Especially if you like classy drinks.

Until next time, have a good one, from all of us at Stick a Fork In It!
