CNN Money has a wonderful story on Jae Lee, a man who launched a chopstick factory in Georgia. Strange? Sure. Successful? Absolutely.
The South Korea-born entrepreneur founded Georgia Chopsticks, which makes four million sets of the disposable wooden utensils each week, exporting them to China and Japan. Apparently, the Asian countries don't have enough wood to produce their own chopsticks, and lumber-rich Georgia has plenty. The company uses recycled materials from local sawmills, along with wood from poplar and sweet gum trees.

Lee has hired 102 employees in less than a year, and plans to hire an additional 800 workers next year.
Brilliant. Hope they engrave “Made in the USA” on those things.
