The people behind RSM's Blind Pig Kitchen + Bar and The Trough Sandwich Kitchen are bringing The Trough to Newport Beach. It will take over the space vacated by Il Barone at 705 E Balboa Blvd.

The Trough Sandwich Kitchen in Newport Beach will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner with such signature items as the Chashu Pork Sandwich with marinated boiled egg, arugula, housemade kewpie mayo, and pickled ginger on a corn roll; and the Spaghetti Sandwich with Bolognese, parmesan, and garlic/herb butter on a corn roll. Yes, a spaghetti sandwich.
It's set to open late summer. In the meantime, check out the website for the RSM branch if you want to see the menu.
