Born Felipe Coronel in Lima, Peru, Immortal Technique moved to Harlem where he grew up in 80's. As a youth, Coronel spent a year in a cell for aggravated assault. But as the IMDB page's plot summary for the documentary summarizes, “Immortal Technique emerged from prison a changed man. As his inner journey continues he travels the world promoting a revolution of consciousness through hip-hop. His path from a troubled youth to a fearless revolutionary is an inspirational must-see.”

The trailer for the film shows the rapper in conversation with Dr. Cornel West, Ice-T, and Woody Nelson among others in between screenshots of him rockin' the mic on stages from New Mexico to the Netherlands. The Cary Stuart directed one-hour documentary has no general release date, but Immortal Technique, who visited Costa Mesa to speak on immigration a year ago today, posted the YouTube link for it on Twitter and suggested it would be screening at the Harlem International Film Festival which takes place September 7th-11th.
