Even for those who haven't seen the original Neil Simon play The Odd Couple know the premise very well: Felix Unger, an uptight neat freak, moves in with his free-spirited slob of a friend Oscar Madison after his wife throws him out, comedically putting their friendship to the test as their opposing personalities wear on each other's nerves. The play has been revived many times, including a version that switches the genders to two females living together (called The Female Odd Couple), most notably in a 1968 film adaptation starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau, and most recently for a television series starring Matthew Perry. Laguna Playhouse brings the classic version onstage, with Simon's signature wit and banter intact. Those being introduced to Simon will no doubt be fans by the end of Felix and Oscar's hilarious farce.
Wednesdays-Sundays. Starts: March 4. Continues through March 29, 2015
