The Muffs

The Muffs were a punk band who packed every song with twist-and-turn pop riffs and whose singer/guitarist/founder Kim Shattuck could growl, sneer, smile and chip a chunk off your heart all before she even hit the chorus. (She was also in the Pandoras—we can’t not shout-out the Pandoras.) They tore through most of the ‘90s with songs that put a lot of thought into a few choice power chords and at their peak, they kinda owned their own piece of LA, even if they never became the next Green Day. (But wouldn’t that have been fun?) Now they're re-activated, which sounds more appropriate than re-united, and they’ve even got their first album in a decade on deck for a 2014 release. Just like they promised on that record back in 1999—they’re alert today, and they’ll be alive tomorrow!
