The Holiday Beers at Alta Baja Market in SanTana, Our Beers of the Week!

Imagine visiting the first Williams-Sonoma or the first Whole Foods—that's what walking into Alta Baja Market is like. So unique, so one of a kind, as you view item after item, you'll automatically know that this is the only store in Southern California where you will be able to find hard-to-get products from New Mexico, Arizona and Baja California. Owner Delilah Snell (wife of our Mexican-in-Chief) is constantly looking and listening for what her customers want, whether it's chocolate from Oaxaca, chile powder from New Mexico, wine from Valle de Guadalupe or hot sauces from Ensenada. Alta Baja also offers a breakfast and lunch menu that ranges from hearty frittatas to tortas created from the next-door Electric City Butcher to made-from-scratch bread pudding topped with homemade jams.

Alta Baja is most famous for its michelada program—an incredible six There are six different micheladas to choose from, spicy, fruity, refreshing, or have a draft beer from Baja! Pero del Mar IPA from Cerveza Fauna/Mexicali, Foca Parlante Stout from Cerveceria Wendlant/Ensenada and Animalego Pilsner, Cerveceria Wendlant/Ensenada. To find this many Baja beers on tap you'd have to drive to Tijuana! Ajua!
The bottle beer section is most impressive, more beers from Baja including brews from Agua Mala, Border Psycho and Baja Brewing Company. Craft beer selection is on point, IPA's, pale ales, Saison, Hefe, farmouse, hoppy pilsner, scotch ale and if you so desire Delilah is also stocking ciders and meads. BOOM!

With the holidays upon us here are a couple of brews to pair with your tamales!
Xocoveza Mocha Stout from Stone Brewing 8.1% ABV by using Mexican chocolate and spices this stout kicks it up a couple of notches. Tasty AF, have this for dessert or try pouring over some ice cream. Xocoveza is so good you'll build a wall around yourself to keep everyone away from your tasty suds.
9 Ladies Dancing from the Bruery in Placentia American Strong Ale 11.3% ABV a perfect Christmas beer to sip as you sit by the fireplace and wait for Sancho Claus to arrive. Vanilla, chocolate and coffee flavors combine to create a Tiramisu dessert beer.
