The Flytraps, Wyatt Blair, Hammered Satin, Gap Dream

Burger Records is in the middle of a Taco Tuesday residency—two great tastes that taste great together, right?—at the Continental Room, and this particular line-up is arguably the strongest of an already strong month. Wyatt Blair is L.A.’s glam-pop star ascendent, and if King Tuff is the king of this kind of Milk ‘n’ Cookies-style thing, Blair’s gotta be the prince. His recent album Banana Cream Dream is crucial. Hammered Satin are even glammier, thanks to indomitable singer Noah (from the old-school S’Cool Girls) while the Flytraps do Pandoras garage-punk with the reckless attitude of the first Redd Kross LP. And of course there’s Gap Dream, channeling Spacemen 3 and Spectrum at the same time. This Burger-Taco combo the only new year’s diet you need.
