The Fix

Consider this a light-hearted way to prepare for the upcoming onslaught of political campaigning—the satirical rock musical The Fix comes to the International City Theatre this month. When a presidential candidate suffers a scandalous death during an extramarital sexual tryst, his team, at the commands of his frosty wife, start to groom his young, rebellious son to take his place. (Interestingly, when The Fix premeired in DC, audiences loved it—but the show was quickly shelved when a certain President/Intern scandal broke.) In The Fix, we follow young Calvin as he drops his dreams of rock stardom for the rungs of the political ladder, and at the whip of his biting mother, we watch as the political machine tries to grind down another soul. Maybe Jr. didn't need to follow in Daddy's footsteps.

Thursdays-Sundays. Starts: April 27. Continues through May 20, 2012
