The Felice Brothers

It's hard to write or read about the Felice Brothers without a mention of Bob Dylan. The majority of their discography is filled with stripped-bare folk tales sung by a familiar nasally groan. Perhaps this ever-present comparison motivated the New Yorkers to broaden their sound to one that's heavily synth-driven. New album, Celebration, Florida is an unexpected journey from their roots in nostalgic Americana to the modern day. In an age when musicians are looking back to American roots blues and outlaw country, it's refreshing to see a band walk away from the country and head towards the city.
