Next month, the Weekly's ultimate beach party returns to Newport Dunes in celebration of our annual Summer Guide issue. And what better way to host a classy event on a hoity toity sandbar than with a stage full of dirty reggae? That's exactly what The Aggrolites intend to bring as the headliner for our second annual Summer Fest shindig on Sunday, June 8. Led by Jesse Wagner, the L.A. troupe continue their legacy as reggae's finest punk rock ambassadors.
They'll be supported by a horn-wielding army of local talent, including 9-piece ska/reggae band The Debonaires, bearded brown-eyed soul outfit Allensworth, ska punks the Originalites and alt-country outlaws Ted Z and the Wranglers with DJ Bobby Soul spinning all day long. The party goes from 12-5 p.m. And of course we'll have everything from water and sand games, contests, drink samplings, food trucks and more to keep you occupied when you're not busy skanking it up. A percentage of the proceeds will go to the children's charity, Boys Town California. Also, check out the new-and-improved beer garden, now with extra drink samplings. Tickets are currently on sale and range from $15 for general admission to $35 for VIP. Click here to get your tickets now and preview the live talent after the jump.
