A documentary about senior citizen speed dating that was popular with Newport Beach Film Festival audiences in 2014 screens for free in Costa Mesa on Wednesday.
The Age of Love will be shown from 4:30 to 7 p.m. in the Costa Mesa Senior Center, where director/producer Steven Loring will appear to answer audience questions afterward.
His film follows 30 seniors in Rochester, New York, who sign up for a first-of-its-kind speed dating event exclusively for 70- to 90-year-olds. Loring has said his project became more personal for him when his father suddenly passed away just before filming and his mother was left alone.
With Baby Boomers living much longer than previous generations, The Age of Love is quite relevant. More people are finding themselves in dating pools than ever before.
