Gary Lynch, who has spent decades trying to understand the brain's memory machine, in recent years has fixated on drugs that could fix the machine when it breaks, including possible cures for neurological conditions such as Alzheimer's,
Parkinson's and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
McDermott's book is a dramatic
