Russia’s Taipan unites musicians from various different projects–Chris Poland from Megadeth, Aaron Rossi from Ministry and Ankla, for example–and, as a result, produces some of the most creative thrash metal. The idea to create a supergroup stems from Jan Yrlund of Manowar and Korpiklaani, who was inspired by Sepultura, Anthrax, Megadeth and Panter. Performances concentrate on fleeting guitar solos and themes of existentialism and tension. The best–and most unique–thing about this group, however, is their changing members: new ones are announced every week, keeping Taipan’s sound dynamic and constantly fresh.
