As part of a plea deal with the court, Trieu also admitted to a sentencing enhancement for great bodily injury to the 41-year-old victim, while charges of corporal injury on a spouse and criminal threats were dismissed.

The unidentified woman was stabbed in the neck around 3:50 p.m. on July 7, 2013, right out in the open at busy Beach and Garden Grove boulevards. Passing motorists who witnessed the attack helped the woman.

As she was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange for emergency surgery, her cowardly husband, who had fled the scene on a bike, was rounded up by cops.
