Halloween brought all sorts of crimes committed by people in costumes (if you want a thorough breakdown, our pals over at The Smoking Gun always have a great roundup). But a serious crime occurred a couple of days before in something called Battle Ground, Washington, when a man in a clown costume sucker-punched someone else, leaving him in serious condition with hearing loss and paralysis in his face.

From the story:

A declaration of probable cause document states the victim was with his girlfriend at the Taco Bell restaurant. She told police that two men in a blue pickup had been arguing with them in the drive-thru line.

After they received their food, the couple pulled around the parking lot and again saw the blue truck. The woman told police the two men got out and exchanged words with her boyfriend, who also exited his vehicle.

According to court documents, the passenger in the truck was wearing a clown costume and punched the victim, who fell to the ground and hit his head on the concrete. The two men then ran back to their truck and drove away.
