UPDATE, DEC. 5, 9:47 A.M.: The Orange County Sheriff's Department this morning announced DUI saturation patrols from 7 tonight through 3 a.m. Saturday in the cities of Aliso Viejo, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel and Laguna Woods. The ops, which are also funded by a California Office of Traffic Safety grant, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, put extra patrol deputies in areas known for DUI-related stops, crashes and fatalities.

ORIGINAL POST, DEC. 5, 6:03 A.M.: The Santa Ana Police Department holds a DUI/drivers license from 9 tonight through 3 a.m. Saturday, and the location is … the area of 2000 W. First St. So if you're picking up a sixer from that nearby Superior Grocers, don't starting drinking it UNTIL you get home.
All vehicles passing through the checkpoint will be checked “and drivers who are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will be arrested,” warns Santa Ana PD, which also invites members of the public to tip them off if they see a buzzed or blazing motorist.
Funding comes from a California Office of Traffic Safety grant, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
