Sobriety checkpoints are scheduled in Orange County this weekend, with one in Santa Ana kicking off tonight and another in Garden Grove Saturday night.

The Santa Ana operation runs from 9 tonight through 3 a.m. Saturday in the area of 1500 E. McFadden Ave., the police department announced.
Garden Grove's is from 9 p.m. Saturday through 3 a.m. Sunday at an undisclosed location, that city's police agency says.
Besides looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment, officers in both cities will be checking drivers for proper licensing, and they promise delays will be brief.
Each department received a California Office of Traffic Safety grant, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, to run the checkpoints.
