Thousands celebrated Mexican Independence Day Saturday September 14 and 15 in Santa Ana during the Fiestas Patrias festivities. The annual event hosted by the city included food and articraft vendors, acclaimed Mexican musicians and a parade with mariachis, ballet folklórico dancers and vibrant distinct custom garments representing all 32 states of Mexico.

The 41st celebration attracted people all ages despite the change of location from Downtown Santa Ana to a location near the Santa Ana stadium and jail where businesses wouldn’t be affected by the large crowds.

City officials also attended including Mayor Miguel Pulido, who performed with his sons onstage. Los Rieleros del Norte concluded the music performers at the main stage with their hit “El Columpio” and had the crowd passionately singing alongside.

  1. Awesome pictures!! Looks like it was a large crowd turn out and many participated in the parade. I’m looking to drive up to Santa Ana from San Diego next year to check out the festivities.
