Since its second store in Huntington Beach can now be safely called a bona fide success, Slater's 50/50 is moving onward and southward. The burger joint has announced it will be opening its third outlet in San Diego.

The Slater's 50/50 at Liberty Station (which our Dave Lieberman says
is the old San Diego Naval Station between San Diego International
Airport and Point Loma, about half a mile's walk from Old Town) is
going to be unique. The plans include a 112-tap bar, which is, um, a lot.
According to the company's Facebook page, the new eatery will open in November.
We're
happy that, like Wahoo's and Yogurtland before it, another OC
born-and-bred restaurant is expanding beyond our borders. Let this be a
lesson to those who want to succeed in this business: It doesn't hurt to
have a gimmick, especially if it involves bacon. People love bacon.
