Starting Saturday, if you fly United Airlines from John Wayne Airport to Mammoth Yosemite Airport (MMH) and then show your same-day boarding pass at the Mammoth Mountain ticket window, you can ski or snowboard the rest of the day for free.
That's a savings of $99, the cost of a regular lift ticket.

I just checked a Monday, non-stop, round-trip SNA-MMH United flight going for $374, so there's that. And the stars and ground transportation will have to align perfectly for you to place slat to slope before noon.
The deal applies to United's non-stop SNA-MMH flights on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays through April 6.
Now just pray for natural snow.
