Skate Punk Legends JFA to Sign Autographs at Vinyl Solution

On Thursday evening, legendary punk band JFA is swinging by to hang with fans at Vinyl Solution Records and Tapes in Huntington Beach. The Phoenix-born skate punkers will sign autographs in advance of their Friday show at the Observatory in Santa Ana, where they'll open for fellow legends, the Angry Samoans.
“They're going to be here signing people's shit and we're going to have posters available,” store owner Drak (yeah, just Drak) told the Weekly yesterday. He added that the in-store appearance was made possible through the efforts of the Observatory crew. “We're hoping to do (in stores) regularly,” Drak said.

In addition to getting stuff signed, fans who buy a ticket for the show through Vinyl Solution will be entered for a chance to win a skate deck signed by the band. The lucky fan will be announced at the Observatory.
Forged in the furnace of the American Southwest in 1981, JFA, or Jody Foster's Army, honed their sound far removed from the punk scenes of the East and West coasts. But with a can-do attitude, they developed a unique style which melded aggressive riffing with unexpected elements such as surf rock (their rapid-fire jams conjure images of dudes on skateboards carving empty Phoenix pools.) Though they've seen several lineup changes through the decades, band membership has revolved constantly around vocalist Brian Brannon and guitarist Don Redondo.
