The Anaheim Police Department wants residents to show them their guns Saturday–so cops can buy the weapons.
]
Yes, the police department that has been struggling with community relations in recent years due to perceived brutality and unjustified shootings holds a gun buy back from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday on the north side of La Palma Park.
Anyone who would like to dispose of their unwanted firearms get a $100 gift card to Target, Kohl's or Fry's Electronics, per firearm, with no questions asked.
Guns … Anaheim Police … Fry's? Why does that have a familiar ring to it?

The police department advises that the guns be transported to the park safely and legally. The best way to do that is to keep them secured, unloaded and in the trunk, cops say. Officers will be directing gun owners to the location off La Palma Park Way, from North Anaheim Boulevard.
So, to reiterate, waving your gun out of the driver's side window to get the traffic cop's attention? NOT advised.
And, the PD reiterates:
• No Questions Asked
• No Identification Required
• $100 Gift Card for Handguns / Rifles / Shotguns
