Shooting of Two Boys That Left One Dead in Garden Grove was Gang Related: Police

UPDATE, OCT. 5, 9:44 A.M.: The two shooting victims, including the deceased, are minors, and the boys will not be identified by Garden Grove Police because of their ages, according to Lt. Thomas DaRe.

The male who was taken to a hospital was shot in the upper part of his body but is expected to survive, DaRe added. “The investigation is ongoing and has been determined to be gang related,” he said.

ORIGINAL POST, OCT. 2, 4:28 P.M.: A call about gunshots sent Garden Grove cops to the 12600 block of Keel Street before 2:20 p.m. today, when they arrived to find two people had been shot.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was taken to a local hospital for emergency treatment, according to Garden Grove Police Lt. Thomas DaRe.

The investigation is ongoing and no other information will be released at this time, said DaRe, adding that the names of victims will not be released until notification of next of kin.
