Bouska are collaborating on a calendar called “6 Packs/9 Lives” to draw attention to the millions of shelter cats in need of homes nationwide–and they need hunks and fur balls.

Open auditions
for all men with pet cats will be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 5, at the South East Area Animal
Control Authority, which is home to the Found Animals kitty adoption
annex known as “The ModPawd,” in
Downey.
“All contestants
must be prepared to prove that their cuddly kitty truly belongs to
them,” say organizers. So, no rent-a-pussies, puh-leeze.
A panel of judges will choose the calendar boys and cats for “6 Packs/9
Lives,” which will be published and distributed by BrownTrout Publishers,
Inc. What will the judges base their scores on? How well the pairs
look on the catwalk, of course.
Anyone who cannot attend
the open casting can e-mail a digital video submission no longer
than three minutes to pc*********@gm***.com
that shows the
contestant and his cat, with an explanation of why the cat is a great
companion, why the pair should be selected for the calendar and why the
contestant could not attend the live casting.
The submission also
should include any form of proof that the contestant is the owner of his
cat, including paid vet bills, past photos of the contestant and his
cat and a bill or receipt that expresses rightful ownership. Video
submissions will be accepted throughl May 29.
