Memorial services this week for Angels play-by-play announcer Rory Markas will be private.

Reports Scott Coppersmith of MyFoxLA.com: A “Celebration of Life” honoring Markas will be held
Thursday, followed by a funeral service Friday, according to Angels
spokeswoman Jennifer Hoyer.
Both services are open only to
family and invited guests. In lieu of flowers, donations in Markas'
memory are being accepted by Children's Hospital of Orange County.
Markas, 54, died at his Palmdale home on Jan. 4. The Chatsworth native
and Cal State Northridge grad had been a familiar voice and face on Los
Angeles radio and television stations for years. Among the other teams
he called games for included the Clippers and the USC Trojans baseball
team. He'd worked for the Angels since 2002.
