MTV, which started the “reality” series affliction that still infects Orange County with the debut of Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County on Sept. 28, 2004, has a new “reality” series based locally coming soon.
But Scrubbing In does not follow privileged coastal teens chasing tail and spin-offs. Instead we'll get “the behind-the-scenes trauma and drama of a group of nine traveling nurses who've been relocated to work at a hospital in Orange County, CA.”
Based on the opener page photo, not all the nurses are Filipino! (Wait … MTV said this was about nursing, right?) And based on cast member names, some scrubbing in are dudes. We'll be introduced to Tyrice, Chris, Fernando, Adrian, Chelsey, Michelle, Crystal, Nikki and Heather.
Some of these folks will have left their hometowns and lives in Pittsburgh, PA, for short-term contracts at an understaffed* hospital, with the added benefit of exploring a new city. Other nurses in the cast are experienced relocaters who'll mentor the newbies.

Scrubbing In, which is set to premiere at 10 p.m. Oct. 24 (check your listings), is executive produced by Mark Cronin and Joel Rodgers from Never Nominated and Shannon Fitzgerald and David Osper of MTV. Janay Dutton and Nick Predescu are the executives in charge of production.
The series is one of two new MTV reality shows. Big Tips Texas, which debuts Oct. 9, is about a handful of girlfriends working together at a local bar just outside of Dallas. The point of both programs, according to the former music television network, is to show diverse groups of young people dealing with diverse workplaces.
Yeah, whatevs, just tell us who the new Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are.
We need to know which episodes to avoid TiVo-ing.
