The Santa Ana Police Department announced it will be conducting a DUI/drivers license checkpoint from 7:30 p.m. Saturday through 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
That's not all the coppers disclosed: Unlike several other Orange County law enforcement agencies, the Santa Ana force is letting us know ahead of time where the checkpoint will be. So we won't be surprised. Wow!

The checkpoint will be set up in the area of 800 W. First St., according to the department.
Santa Ana cops further claim the primary purpose of the checkpoint is not to pad arrest totals but to deter impaired driving. Did you know this? Officers who work these checkpoints have been specially trained to spot impaired drivers, according to the department. Who knew? I thought they were the cops who drew short straws at the station.
All vehicles that pass through the checkpoint may be checked, according to police.
