Saturday Family Fun: Sea Jellies

Jellyfish: kinda gross, kinda beautiful, generally fascinating and thanks to warming ocean temperatures, kinda poised to take over 75% of the planet! (Or to at least reclaim the prime position they ceded to aquatic vertebrates 500 million years ago.) Shouldn’t you get to know the undulating blobs of the sea now, so you’ll be in good with them in the future? Highlights of this educational program of course include petting a prime selection of aquarium invertebrates who hang out in their own private pool—an aristocracy of sea stars, I assure you—as well as visiting related jelly exhibits and making an invertebrate-related craft to ensure permanent positive memories of our boneless ocean buddies. And aquarium admission is included, so make sure to visit that charismatic octopus on the second floor on the way out!
