Five years ago I was diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer. I survived 18 rounds of chemo, 26 rounds of radiation and major surgery. During this time, I smoked plenty of medical marijuana, specifically the indica strain. I also tried edibles, but what really helped with the effects of chemo was smoking pot. So I’m always on the lookout for strains that I recognize as helpful to someone that might also be going through treatment for cancer.
Recently, I paid a visit to Strain Station in Santana, they have a large variety of indica, sativa and hybrid strains, the budtenders are always very helpful and patient as I go through all their vials of tasty and aromatic nugs. Sasquatch stood out as soon as I opened the container. The buds are covered with reddish, orange hairs that give this strain its name; as a returning customer, I received five grams for $45.
When I filled my pipe, the buds were sticky as I pulled them apart. The first hit burned off the orange hairs and was slightly harsh but every hit after that was smooth; by the time I finished that first bowl I was feeling pretty good and high so I went ahead and packed another bowl. Why not, right? The second bowl was perfect; between the pair, I figure I smoked the equivalent of a small joint. I felt euphoric, relaxed, and stooooooonnneeed. Sasquatch was a very enjoyable strain to smoke. I slept like a baby that night and felt great in the morning.
