Santa Ana Police Seek Radio Shack and Home Depot Gunman Who Claims Wife is Sick

Earlier we had the Santa Ana Police Department releasing images from surveillance video of three men stealing a church safe. Someone's got the photo bug over at the PD because they have also publicized shots of a reluctant robber of a Home Depot and Radio Shack in town.

The gunman was wearing the same clothing–a green baseball hat with a logo on the front, a dark-colored hooded jacket, blue jeans and brown hiking-type shoes–in both crimes. The most recent was last Wednesday, May 1, around 10:40 a.m. at the Radio Shack at 3670 W. McFadden Ave. Cash and cellular telephones were demanded from a male clerk, who told the gunman the store was out of stock. The robber said he didn't want to use his gun, and the clerk gave him cash before being ordered to the floor at gunpoint. The robber then fled out the door.

The earlier holdup was around 9:40 a.m. April 15 at a Home Depot, where a female clerk in the gardening department was forced to give the robber $500 at gunpoint and walk outside with him–as he explained she wouldn't be hurt and that his wife is sick.

He was further described as white, age 45-50, about 6 feet tall with a medium build and short gray hair. Here are larger looks at him:
