The Santa Ana Police Department holds a DUI/drivers license checkpoint from 9 tonight through 3 a.m. Saturday–and it's not on the First Street this time.

Tonight's checkpoint will be in the area of 1500 South Fairview Street, according to Santa Ana police.
The department cites DMV reports that show not only impaired drivers posing dangers on the road but motorists without valid drivers licenses are 4.9 times more likely to cause a fatal crash than a licensed driver.
All vehicles may be checked by officers who have been trained to spot drivers who are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, Santa Ana cops say.
Funding for the operation comes from a California Office of Traffic Safety grant, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
