Grant MacPherson, a chef whose cooking experience has included stints at The Raffles Hotel in Singapore to the James Beard house in New York, is opening a new restaurant called Rustica in Newport Beach's Fashion Island. His menu will feature modern Italian, such as Peppered Beef Carpaccio, pastas, and wood-fired flatbreads. The opening date is tentatively set for sometime in June.
