Parents of a girl between the ages of 14 and 17 in March discovered sexed-up text messages between her and 27-year-old Ronnie Gamez of Laguna Niguel on the teen's cell phone. Further investigation by the Orange County Sheriff's Department uncovered an “inappropriate sexual relationship” that had begun between the two starting in February, officials said at the time of Gamez's arrest in March.

Because Gamez was a girls soccer coach associated with several south Orange County club organizations, the word was put out for other possible victims to come forward.

But he only pleaded guilty Monday to felony charges related to the one relationship: sexual penetration of a minor with a foreign object, two counts of oral copulation of a minor and two counts of unlawful sex with a minor.

Besides the jail stretch, Gamez will be placed on probation for five years.
