Just one case to tell you about this week.
Robert Ligayo pleaded guilty last week to sexually abusing a 66-year-old woman under his care in the Laguna Woods senior housing community. The 65-year-old Aliso Viejo resident was arrested in June 2013 after the victim came forward to say her in-home caregiver had been sexually abusing her for six months, Orange County sheriff's officials said at the time. At Ligayo's arraignment, family members claimed he was innocent and his defense attorney said the defendant's company was keen to send him out because patients loved him. Also at time, Ligayo was facing eight years in state prison with a conviction.
