A retired Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) bus driver is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday morning for allegedly possessing hundreds of graphic images and videos of child pornography. Richard Raoul Contreras, 63, of Garden Grove, faces criminal counts in Westminster court that could send him to state prison for three years and have him registering as a sex offender for life, according to prosecutors.

A tip to the Orange County Child Exploitation Task Force about Contrearas possibly possessing child porn led investigators to his home on May 30, 2012, when hundreds of videos and images were found on his home computer stored on hard drives, flash drives, CDs and DVDs, according to the Orange County District Attorney's office (OCDA), which adds his work locker was also found to contain CDs and DVDs with child porn on them.
The multi-agency task force continued investigating Contreras, who was arrested earlier this month, on Oct. 2, says the OCDA. Currently out of custody on $20,000 bail, Contreras is charged with felony possession and control of child pornography.
The OCDA statement claims Contreras was still employed with OCTA at the time of his arrest, but OCTA spokesman Joel Zlotnik tells City News Service Contreras retired last year.
