Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine

Once in a while, a musician comes along who's perfectly in tune with his comedic spirit. Richard Cheese is one of those guys. Rocking swinging versions of popular alternative songs, this guy blends characteristics from two disparate worlds—the stodgy pastiche of our grandparents' era and the über-pretentious angsty machinations of the MTV generation. And he does it with comedic aplomb. Somehow, he successfully took the lethargic Radiohead classic “Creep” and turned it into a lively ditty that wouldn't feel out of place in the 1950s Copa Room (dig the whistle solo). Other polished gems in Cheese's musical arsenal include “Down With the Sickness,” “Baby Got Back” and the Nirvana classic “Rape Me.” It's quirky, and it's pure cheese.
