Charlie Palmer's monthly 50 for 50 sell-off, with bargains aplenty, has come around again. It's this Saturday, June 13, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, in the Next Vintage Wine Shop.
Antonello Ristorante has started a “wine mixer” once a month, featuring eight wines for $30 per person, followed by a sale of wines at retail prices. The next one, showcasing a trio of Napa Valley wineries, takes place on Friday, June 26, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Reservations are required: call (714) 751-7153–as is business casual attire (in a state where people go to work barefoot!).
But the real biggie is SCP's charity fundraiser, Stars of Santa Barbara, from 6:30pm to 9:30pm on Wednesday, June 24. There'll be tastings from around 40 SB wineries, grub from the likes of Morton's, Hamamori and MarchN Moderne, and top tunes from KCRW's Jason Bentley (pictured).
If your pockets are deep enough, bid on the silent auction: among the prizes are brunch for four at the Biltmore Four Seasons in Santa Barbara, a wine tasting and a night's stay at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, and two nights at the Surf N Sand Resort, Laguna Beach.
Tickets, which cost $65 online or $75 on the door, are limited, so call ahead if possible–(310) 451-7600. Proceeds go to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.
