Persimmons, the fruit that looks like a tomato…wait, tomato is also a fruit…have their own party this weekend. It will be the 10th year, in fact. The festivities will be held in Pitcher Park in Orange on Sunday, November 15th, from noon to 3 p.m.
The guests of honor will be the two types of persimmons: Hachiya N Fuyu, which will also be the main course, cooked into baked goods and treats and frozen into 'simmon-sicles…and heck, they're even going to have persimmon salsa.
And why is it that every time I try to type persimmon on the keyboard, I type “permission” instead. Weird.
